Online 3D tours highlight Baku landmarks

Users now can surf online and look at landmarks and different places of Baku via 3D photos and 3D views. Newly established Baku 3D project has created such an opportunity. Currently working in ten languages, it could be easily translated to any other with Google Translate.

The oldest part of Azerbaijan’s capital is Icherisheher (Internal city).  The local government introduced a virtual tour web site. Tourists and people can now travel inside this medieval city, look for Palace of Shirvanshahs, and Karavansarai’s and Maiden Tower. It is amazing to see the cat watching you at the footsteps of Maiden tower. This tools gives opportunity to see Icherisheher atnight. The most precise map of Azerbaijan is provided by GoMap.az, which is a state-funded project. Now developers have announced that they will continue adding to the current 65,632 objects already on the online map. First of all, a mobile version is to be created by May of this year. At the same time, online maps of neighbouring Georgia will also be prepared. Work has already begun, and results are expected sometime this year. Gomap.az already offers enormous opportunities for social media users, as well as business, ordinary people with its features to bring needed codes, sharing, putting objects to map, etc.
